Carter is a senior certified welding inspector (SCWI) with a technical degree in nondestructive testing (NDT), with ASNT Level III certifications in ultrasonic (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MT). As Fickett’s Corporate Level III, Carter oversees our NDT program and has a thorough understanding of welding processes for a variety of materials.  Carter has been performing inspections on structural steel, including inspection of welding, fabrication, bolting and erection, on new and existing bridges, buildings, and a variety of waterway lock and dam structures since 1984.  In addition, Carter is also a Society of Professional Rope Access Technician (SPRAT), Level I and teams with other Fickett SPRAT team members and other SPRAT firms to perform VT and NDT inspections on in-service bridges.
