Andy Fickett, PE
President & CEO
Andy brings over 34 years of experience in transportation infrastructure inspection, maintenance, and management. As President and CEO, he oversees operations, performance, and business development across all offices, while remaining actively involved in consulting and technical training.

Todd Demski, PE
Executive Vice President
With over 25 years of experience in the transportation and construction industries, Todd’s expertise includes Initial, Routine, NSTM, and In-Depth Inspections of bridges, stadiums, ancillary structures, and waterfront structures. His background also includes construction management and development and instruction of technical training courses.

Andy Packard, PE
Vice President
Andy brings over 24 years of structural engineering experience in the transportation industry, primarily in bridge design, load rating, and inspection. His background includes the design and repair of new and existing bridges across all common materials and bridge types, with deep expertise in FHWA National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) and element-level condition ratings.

Brian Schmidt, PE
Performance & Analytics Manager
Brian’s engineering experience includes the inspection of thousands of bridges, buildings, and ancillary structures since joining Fickett in 2010. His responsibilities include managing complex multi-year contracts and work orders, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements. Brian is also a National Highway Institute-certified Instructor and recipient of the Instructor of Excellence Award.

Ryan Sievers, PE, CWI
Field Operations Manager | Rope Access Program Manager
Joining Fickett in 2012, Ryan performs Initial, Routine, NSTM, In-Depth, and Emergency inspections on bridges, culverts, and ancillary structures for state DOTs and public and private entities nationwide. As Field Operations and Rope Access Program Manager, his capabilities are enhanced by his certifications as a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and SPRAT Level III rope access specialist.

Michael Beglin, PE, CWI
Senior Project Manager
Joining Fickett in 2021, Michael performs Initial, Routine, NSTM, In-Depth, and Emergency inspections on bridges, culverts, and ancillary structures for state DOTs and public and private entities nationwide. With over 17 years of professional experience, his inspection abilities are augmented as a SPRAT Level I rope access technician, a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), and expertise in stream stability and scour assessment.

Reed Case, PE
Senior Project Manager
Since 2023, Reed has supported Fickett’s work in the Pacific Northwest. He brings 13 years of experience in bridge, tunnel, and infrastructure inspection, having performed over 1,800 inspections across 18 U.S. states and abroad. A qualified NBIS Bridge and Tunnel Inspection Team Leader and Project Manager, he has experience mobilizing and reporting on a wide range of contract types. Reed is also a SPRAT Level III rope access technician.

Traa Haase, PE, CWI
Project Manager
Traa’s 11 years of engineering experience includes inspecting hundreds of bridges and thousands of ancillary structures throughout the United States. He supplements his inspection capabilities with SPRAT Level III certification and is an FAA-certified Small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) Remote Pilot, and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).

Steven Hammerschmidt, PE
Senior Project Manager
Steven joined Fickett in 2025, bringing 14 years of bridge experience in inspection, load rating, rehabilitation, and design of both highway and rail bridges. His design and loading experience include curved girder bridges, trusses, gusset plates, and routine bridge types. He holds over 2,500 hours of total experience as a SPRAT-certified rope access technician and 1,250 hours as a Level III Technician.

Edgardo Ruiz, PhD, PE
Senior Project Manager
Edgardo brings over 18 years of experience as a researcher and civil engineer, including a PhD in civil engineering. Since joining Fickett in 2023, he has aided state DOTs with SNBI implementation through client-specific training and data transitions and has served as Project Manager on a variety of bridge-related projects..

Sheila Arias-Roman, MS, PE
Project Manager
Sheila is a licensed civil and water resources engineer and NBIS-Certified Bridge Inspector with specialized experience managing assessments on bridges that cross waterways. Her expertise focuses on river dynamics, geomorphology, stream flooding, scour, and other hydraulic events.

James Dalton Biggers, EIT
Staff Engineer I
James joined Fickett’s Nashville Office in 2025, performing Routine, NSTM, and QA inspections across Minnesota, Montana, and Tennessee. A graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a BS in Mechanical Engineering and having earned his SPRAT Level I certification, he brings a strong technical foundation to his work.

Noah Boehnen, EIT
Staff Engineer I
Joining Fickett in 2024, Noah serves as Team Member and Team Lead on projects throughout the country, performing Routine, In-Depth, NSTM, Timber Boring, and Fatigue Prone inspections on bridges and ancillary structures. He brings SPRAT Level I and FAA sUAS pilot certifications, along with experience in SNBI data conversions.

Jacqueline Brady, EIT
Staff Engineer I
Joining Fickett as an intern in 2024 and transitioning to full-time in 2025, Jaci performs Routine, NSTM, and rope access inspections on bridges, culverts, and retaining walls across Tennessee, Texas, Montana, and Wisconsin, and also contributes to Fickett’s projects in SNBI data transition. She holds SPRAT Level I and FAA sUAS pilot certifications.

Jordan Budiac, PE, CWI
Project Engineer
Joining Fickett in 2022, Jordan performs Routine, NSTM, and ancillary structure inspections across Minnesota, Montana, Oregon, and Wisconsin. A PE and Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) with SPRAT Level I, FAA sUAS, and NDT Level II certifications in UT and MT, he also developed 12 hours of SNBI training material for WisDOT.

Michael Feilbach, PE, CWI
Project Manager
Joining Fickett in 2019, Michael inspects bridges and ancillary structures nationwide, performing Initial, Routine, NSTM, In-Depth, and Damage Inspections for state DOTs and local agencies. He is a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), SPRAT Level II rope access technician, FAA sUAS Pilot, and is trained in NDT Limited Level II – Ultrasonic Testing of Anchor Rods and Magnetic Particle Iron Powder AC/DC.

Jackson Fortenberry, EIT
Staff Engineer I
Jack performs Routine, NSTM, and QA inspections across Tennessee, Texas, and Montana. Joining Fickett’s Nashville Office in 2025, he is a graduate of the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with a BS in Biosystems Engineering, bringing a strong technical foundation to his early career in bridge inspection.

Braeden Fruchtman, EIT
Staff Engineer I
Braeden has been with Fickett since 2024, with experience spanning a wide range of assignments, including rope access, NSTM, NDT, SNBI Conversions, Emergency Inspections, Routine Inspections, and bridge modeling. Braeden holds an Engineer in Training (EIT) designation, is SPRAT Level I certified, and is an FAA-certified sUAS pilot.

James Cassell, EIT

Cole Maurer, PE
Project Engineer
Joining Fickett in 2025, Cole has performed over 600 Routine, Initial, NSTM, and In-Depth inspections on bridges, tunnels, elevated tanks, and ancillary structures across 9 U.S. states and abroad. A qualified NBIS Bridge Inspection Team Leader, he is also SPRAT Level II certified and an FAA-certified sUAS pilot.

Todd Niemann, PE
Principal Engineer
Todd has been a PE since 1994, with experience in welding technologies, bridge fabrication, and structural inspections. Before joining Fickett in 2019, he held multiple leadership roles with the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Todd has been extensively involved in research projects, industry-focused professional organizations, and committees focused on welding technology, quality control, design, fabrication, and inspection related to steel bridge structures.

Kainalu Pagente
Staff Engineer I
Kainalu serves as a Team Member and rope access technician on NSTM inspections throughout Oregon and Washington. A graduate of Saint Martin’s University with a BSCE in Civil Engineering, Nalu brings hands-on experience in structural analysis, inspections, and drafting. Joining Fickett’s Olympia Office in 2026, he has already earned his SPRAT Level I and FAA sUAS pilot certifications.

Kirsten Parent, PE
Project Manager
Kirsten joined Fickett’s Madison Office in 2020 and serves as Team Leader on Routine and Timber inspections and Team Member on NSTM, In-Depth, Special, and Emergency inspections of bridges and ancillary structures nationwide. She holds SPRAT Level II, FAA sUAS pilot, and NDT Level II Ultrasonic Testing certifications, and holds dual degrees in Geological Engineering and Geology and Geophysics from UW-Madison.

Roman Peralta, PE
Director of Bridge Preservation and Project Development
Joining Fickett in 2025, Roman brings 29 years of experience leading statewide bridge and tunnel inspection, preservation, and risk reduction programs. His expertise includes federal compliance (NBIS & NTIS), emergency response, and multi-agency coordination. Roman also contributes to Fickett’s UDOT SNBI conversion project and is a recognized presenter at national bridge and tunnel inspection conferences.

Jeffery Roberts, PhD, PE
Senior Structural Design Manager
Joining Fickett in 2025, Jeff spearheads our structural design and load rating services, bringing over 38 years of experience in structural, mechanical, and software engineering. His expertise includes load ratings for new and existing bridges under Federal criteria, specialized assessments for single-use overload scenarios, and permit load ratings supporting crane operations on bridge and hydraulic steel structures.

Austin TenHaken, EIT
Staff Engineer I
Austin serves as a Team Member and Rope Access Technician, performing Routine and NSTM inspections on bridges, culverts, and ancillary structures across Wisconsin, Tennessee, South Dakota, and Montana. Starting at Fickett as an intern in 2024, Austin graduated from UW-Platteville with a BS in Civil Engineering and has already earned his SPRAT Level I certification since transitioning to full-time at Fickett’s Milwaukee Office in 2025.

Tim Welter, PE
Project Engineer | Drone Program Manager
Joining Fickett in 2024, Tim serves as a Team Leader on bridge inspections, with expertise spanning rope access, NSTM, Emergency, and Routine inspections. With over 7 years of experience, he is SPRAT Level I certified, is a key contributor to Fickett’s SNBI data transitions, and as an FAA-certified sUAS pilot he serves as Fickett’s Drone Program Manager.
OUR QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALISTS

Lonnie Anderson, CWI, NDT Level II
Quality Assurance Specialist
With over 35 years of experience in structural steel welding, fabrication, and inspection, Lonnie serves as a lead inspector for shop fabrication and on-site steel connection inspections. His expertise includes visual inspections, UT, and MT, as well as the review and approval of weld procedure qualification records, weld procedure specifications, and welder qualifications.

Carter Bohn, SCWI, ASNT Level III
Quality Assurance Specialist
As a Senior Certified Welding Inspector, Carter oversees Fickett’s NDT program, bringing ASNT Level III certifications in UT and MT, a technical degree in Nondestructive Testing, and SPRAT Level I certification as a rope access technician. Since 1984, he has performed structural steel inspections — including welding, fabrication, bolting, and erection — on bridges, buildings, and waterway structures.

Hannah Wolf, CWI
Project Coordinator
Joining Fickett in 2021, Hannah coordinates the scheduling and planning of our Quality Assurance work. Her background in welding and teaching, not to mention her exceptional organizational skills, has been instrumental in streamlining our processes and keeping us on task.

With on-staff instructors certified with the National Highway Institute (NHI), Fickett Structural Solutions provides course instruction, teaching, and training on many aspects of structural assembly and performance of buildings, bridges, culverts, and ancillary structures. Finn Hubbard, PE
Senior Instruction Manager
For over 40 years, Finn has been involved in a variety of structural design, construction, and inspection projects within the transportation industry. A certified trainer for the FHWA’s National Highway Institute (NHI) to deliver bridge-related training around the country, Finn also presents a one-day training course on Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) to State Departments of Transportation nationwide.

Danielle Crossen
Operations Manager
With over 18 years of experience, Danielle supports the Fickett team with operational tools and SOPs, managing vendor relationships and compliance tracking. Her responsibilities include centralizing and improving internal systems as well as establishing consistent and scalable office management systems.

Jacqueline Holland
Human Resources Manager
Joining Fickett in 2026, Jackie brings over 10 years of HR experience, including a strong background in employee relations, compliance, recruiting, and process development. She supports our employees and builds scalable people practices that serve our growing team across all offices.

Joelle Lang
Accounting Manager
Joelle manages accounts payable and receivable for our clients and vendors and assists project managers with contracts and tracking. With 10 years of experience across small business, local government, and federal government environments, she brings versatile accounting expertise to Fickett’s operations.
